HVAC Maintenance Checklist

When you choose A&G Services, you are choosing to save money on HVAC maintenance. There is nothing worse than interruptions to your business, especially when they could have been prevented. Here is an HVAC maintenance checklist to keep your system healthy:

Check and replace your air filters often.

Make sure you are checking your air filter frequently. This is extremely important. Dirty air filters make your HVAC system less efficient and can cause strains on the working parts. You should set a reminder one a month to make sure the air filter isn’t dirty and needing to be replaced. You should change your filter every 30 to 90 days, and even more frequently when the weather is nice and you have the windows open.

Keep your AC and heating systems free of debris.

It is important to keep the system free of debris if you have an outdoor unit. You should be checking for leaves, pollen, dirt, and sticks every week.

Clean your registers.

Keep your registers and ducts clean of dust and debris.

Give your humidifier a vacation.

You will want to give your system a rest in the summer, in order to do this turn off your furnace humidifier’s water supply.

Listen for unusual noises.

If you hear an odd noise, that indicates something may be wrong. Be sure you are always listening to make sure your system is running smoothly. Noises in your system are often created by debris in the vents or loose bolts on the furnace.

Use fans to give your system a break.

Since the temperatures are warming up, it is important to give your system a break. Enjoy the nice outside weather and open the windows. Giving your system a break every now and then can lengthen the life of the equipment and save you money on your energy bills.
