Use this checklist to build a complete, year-round plan for your facility’s plumbing health.
1. Schedule a System-Wide Jetting Service: Have your service provider inspect and clean all major drain and sewer lines annually. Prioritize areas with high usage or past issues.
2. Identify All Access Points and Cleanouts: Document every cleanout location to make the process more efficient during service. Older buildings may need access points installed.
3. Conduct a Camera Inspection Post-Jetting: Always follow jetting with a camera inspection to ensure the job is complete and to identify any developing pipe issues like cracks or root intrusion.
4. Review and Clean Grease Traps: If your property has a commercial kitchen, include grease trap cleaning and inspection in your schedule.
5. Check Drainage Around Floor Sinks and Restrooms: Make sure areas prone to heavy use (like restrooms or locker rooms) are draining correctly and included in your hydro jetting plan.
6. Record All Work in a Centralized Maintenance Log: Document the date, scope, and results of each service. Good records help identify patterns and protect your facility from code violations.
7. Review Past Problems and Adjust Schedule: If one area tends to clog twice a year, schedule jetting for that line every six months instead of annually.
